When I start to run now, my legs from my knees to my ankles feel "squishy" and I just can't do the speed. They're fine any other time - no pain at all & I can jog okay. But can't rip 'em up (as if I could anyway).
I was advised to lay off the long runs for a couple of months. Nothing above 6, possibly 8 miles. Basically, sidelined until Houston Fit Fall Half starts in May. It'll be June or so 'til I get back to distance.
This should give my body some time to adapt to more speed work. I still have my two speeds of stop and go. Not doing long runs is supposed to help with faster-, medium- and slower-fasts.
We'll see. It's kinda good so now I'm not tempted to do any half-marathons for the next couple of months. There's some that are tempting (that would be travel).
The oddities in the life of Anna....prepare yourself.... UPDATE: It'll probably be mostly about running as I never have been writting about my normal weird life.

DONE!!!
I'm the Michael Phelps of Land!
On 3/15 I completed half-marathon #8 for this season (as marathon season runs in Texas) and earned medal #8.
Eight 1/2 marathons in 4 1/2 months.
And looking at my 8 medals, I am over my obsession with earning bling!
Instead of it being all about the medals, now it's just 'a lot' about the medals :-)
My performance wasn't what I had hoped, but it was fair. This season was about quantity. Next season will be quality.
Pelican Challenge report and wrap-up of this season to follow eventually....
Thanks to Javier & Bill for getting me to start blogging again.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MEDALS!!!
I'm going to need some positive images to get me through these two cold, wet 1/2 marathons this weekend. Here's the image:
